Mario Kart 7 is the seventh title in the wildly popular racing series, and the first on the Nintendo 3DS handheld. The title returns to the traditional eight racer format rather than the twelve racers of its predecessor,
Mario Kart Wii. Most of the traditional characters from the past games appear once again, with notable exceptions such as Waluigi and Dry Bones. Racers will get to experience sixteen brand new tracks, spanning from courses constructed from musical instruments to the scenic Wuhu Island from Wii Sports Resort, as well as sixteen tracks from past games. New racing mechanics like underwater paths and hang-gliders put a new spin on the familiar Mario Kart formula. Players will also be able to test their skills online, with many new features, such as communities.
