| Avoid Bloopers |
| Bloopers are an enemy that will chase Mario, however; if he sits/walks along the sea floor, the bloopers will stop just above him before floating back upwards. |
| Warp Zone (1-2) |
| To enter the first Warp Zone, proceed through the level until the final moving platform. Jump on the platform and then jump on the very top of the level. Once there, the Mario Bros. can run over the ending pipe to enter the Warp Zone. This Warp Zone allows the Mario Bros. to warp to World 2, 3 or 4. |
| Warp Zone (4-2) to World 5 |
| To enter the second Warp Zone, proceed through the level until reaching the end, jump to break the blocks at the top and then jump up there. Once there, the Mario Bros. can run over the ending pipe to enter the Warp Zone. This Warp Zone allows the Mario Bros. to warp to World 5. |
| Warp Zone (4-2) to World 6, 7 or 8 |
| The enter the third Warp Zone proceed through the level as small Mario and continue until reaching the rising platform, three brick blocks can be seen. Jump and hit the first block (closest to the rising platform) to reveal a bean stalk. Jumping under the other two blocks will cause hidden blocks to appear, use these to reach the bean stalk. Climb the bean stalk and proceed to the end of the level to reach the Warp Zone. This Warp Zone allows the Mario Bros. to warp to World 6, 7 or 8. |
| Fireworks |
| If Mario finishes a stage with the final digit of the timer ending in 1, 3, or 6, fireworks will appear once he has entered the castle. |
| Fake Bowser's True Identity |
At the end of worlds 1-7, the Mario Bros. encounter what would appear to be Bowser, however; the Mario Bros. can defeat these "Bowsers" with fireballs to reveal their true identity.
