Once again, Nintendo releases game that they've truly out done themselves with. Super Mario Galaxy has redefined the way the platforming genre should be for its generation of gaming, the same way Super Mario 64 innovated and revolutionized it. Mario's next ground-breaking platformer doesn't take place in the Mushroom Kingdom, instead it takes place in outer space!
The game begins with Mario on his way through Toad Town to Peach's Castle for the Star Festival celebration. That is, until Bowser launches an Airship strike on Peach's Castle, literally ripping it from the foundation and once again kidnapping Peach along with her castle, similar to Paper Mario. Mario attempts to save the princess in peril, when barely out of Peach's reach, he gets sent off into space by a blast created by Magikoopa.
Mario later awakens on a strange planet where he encounters a star-like creature called a Luma. The Luma leads Mario to a woman by the name of Rosalina, who explains the situation. Mario must travel to and throughout other galaxies, collecting Power Stars to garner enough power to travel to the center of the universe
to defeat Bowser and rescue Princess Peach! |
