The first game in the Mario Kart series, Super Mario Kart is one of the must have games for the Super Nintendo. The game features several of your favorite Mario characters racing around tracks of the Mushroom Kingdom. Making it unlike any other racing game before it, players throw Koopa Shells, drop Banana Peels, and use a variety of other items to cause hazards for racers.
To supplement the Grand Prix and VS. Modes, there is also a Battle Mode. Battle Mode pits players against each other in one of several arenas. Each player has 3 balloons that are lost from getting hit with by items. The last one standing without losing all three of his/her balloon's wins the game. Super Mario Kart is a very sucessful game with amazing modes, jump-starting the success of the Mario Kart series.
