The third and final Super Mario Bros. cartoon was named Super Mario World, after the video game that it was loosely based on. It stars the adventures of Mario, Princess Toadstool, Luigi and Yoshi in Dinosaur Land, while introducing new characters such as Oogtar the Caveboy. Super Mario World shared a timeslot with the third season of Captain N: The Game Master, and episodes aired from September 14th, 1991 to December 7th, 1991.

The episode "The Night Before Cave Christmas" was released on a VHS tape with christmas specials from previous Super Mario Bros. cartoons some time in 1996. All of the episodes were later released along with the episodes of Captain N: The Game Master in a DVD box set.
